Make wine for everybody.

That has been my goal all along. I grew up around wine; it was always on the table at family meals and I was always asked if I wanted to try a sip, which I would agree to then pucker my face and think, “yep, still not for me.” Obviously, that has changed. Now, I love wine. I think it has such an aura about it that seems to bring people close. Something about pouring glasses of wine over dinner with people you love is euphoric and unexplainably freeing.

The only issue is that I don’t think wine truly is for everybody- right now. Some of that might be the misconception that wine has to be fancy. Some of it might be because it’s just too confusing. If you are relating in any way to what I’m saying, then you are who I created Palate Pal for. Even growing up around wine, I always felt so uneducated in restaurants trying to order wine, mispronouncing it and the experience turning from euphoric to stressful. In a long and drawn out explanation, that’s my why for creating Palate Pal. I want to make wine truly for everybody. I want to help people sip with certainty.

My name is Conor Dowler, and I’m the founder of Palate Pal. I grew up in Anderson, South Carolina and graduated from Furman University just 45 minutes north. Although I am not a certified sommelier (yet), I’m just a young adult who wants to change the wine game for the better. I am so excited to see where Palate Pal ends up and I hope it can help to enhance your dining experiences!
